The earliest Aircrafts

At the end of the XIX century The aviation pioneers were competing in creation of aircrafts. They created a lot of interesting inventions: Big or small, real or motor. Many of these inventions were equipped with vapor engines. Most of them have not had a chance to succeed. Inventors often worked alone and had a poor technical education. However, it helped to aviation science to move forward. Gradually it became clear that the most successful aircraft should to have wings, light engine and flight management control. These were the challenges, which were organized by inventors in the beginning of XX century.

G L I D E R S

Modern gliders have a long narrow wings and they use a flow of air to fly in the sky for hours. A glider has no engine, or some system of impulse. It moves quietly in the air and flies large distances. Gliders have a long history.

DREAMS OF FLIGHT

ORNITOPTER

People dreamed to fly, thousands of years ago, until it became a reality. Leonardo Da Vinci invented a unique flying machine, which was modeled like a bird movement. It was named Ornitopter. This idea turned out to be impossible to achieve, Because the Human muscles do not have the proper power to fly with mechanical wings. But Leonardo da Vinci was a brilliant engineer and inventor, he invented many fabulous and bitter things such as parachute, deltaplane and helicopter.

what is flight

Introduction

Flight history starts from ancient times. People wanted to fly in the sky like a bird. Birds can overcome the force of gravity by waving. Centuries ago, people tried to fly the bird imitation. Some of them was jumping from towers with Attached wings. Leonardo Da-Vinci invented a flying machine, which was flapping its wings like a bird. 1783 Invention of Hot air balloon, allowed people to Climb in the air. The experiments on aircrafts and gliders were continued, To determine wing optimization. Finally, XX century, the Wright brothers invented the first power-operated aircraft and actually flew.
